If you've been in any mall in the past month you have seen this trend. Daisy print clothing and accessories are popping up in every store, which means a variety of patterns and prices to pick from. Here are a few of my top picks under $30!

My Favorite Spring Trends
Sheer/Mesh
Mesh is the perfect way to show off a little skin, but still keep it modest. It will also help you stay cool in the spring when it starts to get humid! I haven't really looked into this trend before, but I'll have to try it out this spring!
Geometric Prints
This trend really makes a statement, and you can dress it up or down. With a plethora of shapes, styles, and colors, it really is a trend that fits every body type. Whether it be worn through leggings, a tank top, or a skirt, you can rock geometric patterns all spring!
Pastels
Pastels are a reoccurring spring/summer trend. I like to wear my pastels with metallics to add more interest. This spring, pair up a lacy fabric in a pastel color with a statement necklace and you're ready to go!
Metallic
This is probably the trend I'm most looking forward to this spring. I love anything that sparkles or shines, so this trend fits me perfectly. Bringing this into your wardrobe isn't hard. The easiest thing to do is pair your outfits with metallic shoes. If a full shine shoe is too much for you, try a cap toe option like these from Target. Cheap and cute!
Crop Tops
Crop tops are the trend I thought I would never see myself wearing. I always thought they were a little to promiscuous and hard to wear them for school or family functions, but once I tried one on there was no going back. I like to pair mine with skater skirts and cardigans because it's still a little chilly outside, but I can't wait to wear my favorite ones with highwaisted shorts this spring and summer.
What trend are you most excited for this Spring?

Government and Shakespeare
To say the past few weeks have been crazy is an understatement. Between learning about the government, putting on a play and fundraising I have been crazy busy!
I had a Youth in Government (YIG) conference a few weekends ago, which was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Teens take over the Minnesota capitol and pass laws, argue court cases, and act as media for a little mock government. The program had taught me so many things over the years, not only about government, but about myself. It has given me such great self confidence and taught me many life lessons. If you have the chance to participate in the program, DO IT! You won't regret it! I'm sad to say it was my last year in the program as a participant, but I'm totally coming back next year to help spark the government flame in the incoming 8th graders!
One of the best parts about the weekend is the dress code. It is so fun to get all dressed up like I will for my real job one day. Here are a few of my outfits...
All of these costumes were made from scratch by the amazing costuming team! We spent hours cutting, serging, sewing, ripping, pinning, and any other sewing term you can think of to make these beautiful costumes! It was one of the most fun shows to costume for ever!!
Finally, this past weekend was supposed to be the end of finals, but of course that Minnesotan weather just had to get in the way. Three snow days have come between me and my physics final. I'm ready to get it over with!

I wore this for the Officer banquet. I had the honor of being secretary of state this year! I was voted in last year by over 1,600 students! I found this cute lace dress at Sears. Yes, I said Sears. They honestly have the cutest stuff, you just gotta dig!!! It was the perfect length, professional but still fun! Finished the look off with red heels and a gold chain necklace.
Working hard, of hardly working? I went for a pants/dress combo this day. I got the pants at Sears for $10 a couple months ago (they're just plain black skinny dress pants) and I found the shirt at H&M about a year ago. I never had really worn it before this, but now it's one of my favorites! I Had my sparkley lanyard on so no necklace on this one! I also wore my hot pink and black heels from prom two years ago. Best. purchase. of. my. life. Those shoes have been through everything and they still look amazing. I highly suggest Aldo or their off-shoot store Call It Spring for quality shoes at a pretty reasonable price.
The next weekend we had my high school's production of Macbeth. Every year we have a student-run winter Shakespeare performance, but there's a twist. The theme changes every year. Last year we did The Tempest with a theme of Circus. This year our theme was Feudal Japan. Costumes are my favorite part, so of course I'm on the costuming team! Although I was very busy with YIG, I tried to put in a few solid weeks of costuming. All of the costumes turned out AMAZING!
